On May 31st, Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Counselor Ma Changlin and Counselor Zhao Qiaoliang attended the signing ceremony of a comprehensive 500-million-US dolor purchase contract for the GSM network rollout equipments between CMPak and four equipment suppliers (ZTE, Huawei, Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent) . Ambassador Luo delivered his congratulations speech and praised that the investment and operation in Pakistan of CMPak, one of the biggest telecommunication operators of the globe, not only upgraded the level of telecommunication cooperation between our two countries, but also increased the Chinese Foreign Direct Investment in Pakistan, which is a "win-win" and "multi-win" deal. It is believed that CMPak will grow to one of the strongest tele-companies in Pakistan in the near future. Ambassador Luo also made a positive estimate and outlook of the bilateral relations in his speech. Mr. Guo Yonghong, CEO of CMPak and Mr. Awais Leghari, Minister of IT of Pakistan expressed their congratulations as well. H.E. Mr. Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister of Pakistan, had a meeting with Ambassador Luo and the representatives of the above five companies prior to the signing ceremony. Prime Minister Aziz congratulated CMPak on its one more achievement in Pakistan and said that Pakistan's domestic economic reform was successful with an annual economic growth rate of more than 7% which made the foreign investors confident in the future development of Pakistan. Mr. Aziz expressed satisfaction with his recent visit to China and emphasized the fulfillment of the agreements between the state leaders of the two countries and welcomed more and more Chinese companies to invest and operate in Pakistan. |
