ISLAMABAD (June 20, NEWS) China while thanking Pakistan for its commendable support in the aftermath of last month's earthquake in Sichuan province, assured it that Beijing would standby Islamabad through thick and thin as the two countries had throughout been stood by each other in numerous crises.
This reiteration has come from Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Luo Zhaohui Thursday evening when he hosted a thank-giving dinner in honor of Pakistan Army medical team that rendered marvelous services for the quake affected people in the southeastern China.
The Ambassador said that Pakistan is the first that come to Chinese help at this hour of great tragedy and turmoil. Pakistan's medical camp in the earthquake-hit area was the only foreign facility that was visited by Chinese President Hu Jintao during the relief efforts.
Federal Minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Lieutenant General (R) Farooq Ahmed Khan, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Abdul Mateen, Director General Foreign Office, Saeed Ahmad Qureshi, Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society and Colonel Habib-ur-Rehman, head of Pakistan's first 28-member medical mission also attended the dinner.
