Reception Celebrating the 67th Anniversary of China-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations Held in Islamabad

On May 21, Ambassador Yao Jing hosted the reception to celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations at the Chinese Embassy.

Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua attended the reception as the Chief Guest. Special Secretary Shah M. Jamal, Additional Secretary Imtiaz Ahmad, Additional Secretary and National Coordinator of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Babar Amin and other officials from Foreign Ministry of Pakistan were also invited.

Yao Jing spoke highly of China-Pakistan relations. He welcomed and thanked Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua and Pakistani diplomats to the reception. He stated that for the past 67 years, China-Pakistan relations have undergone the test of changes in international situation and become a model of peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation between countries with different culture backgrounds and different social systems. The development of China-Pakistan relations cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of all walks of life of the two countries, including the important contribution made by the Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. China is ready to work with Pakistan to pass on all-weather friendship, deepen all-round pragmatic cooperation including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. It is hoped that China-Pakistan relations could play a new and demonstrative role in the new era of forging new type of international relations and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Tehmina Janjua said that thanks to the joint efforts of the governments and people of the two countries, Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership have grown from strength to strength in the past 67 years. It is described as deeper than the mountains, deeper than the sea, and sweeter than honey by the Pakistani people. The Belt Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor have brought important opportunities of development to Pakistan and countries along the route. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry is very proud of the strong bilateral relations and close cooperation between Pakistan and China in international and regional affairs. Pakistan will unswervingly promote friendly relations with China, deepen all-dimensional cooperation between the two countries, and further promote the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to create a more prosperous and beautiful future for the two countries.
