Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong called on Chairman of Senate

On February 21,2017, Ambassador Sun Weidong called on Chairman of Senate Mian Raza Rabbani. They exchanged views on China-Pakistan relations, China-Pakistan pragmatic cooperation, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as well as other topics of common interest.

Ambassador Sun said, the relationship between the two countries maintains a strong momentum of development. The bilateral exchanges and cooperation were increasingly strengthened. The coordination between the two countries on major international and regional issues is constantly deepening. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC) goes into the full implementation phase. The initial results of a number of projects emerge. As the pilot project of The Belt and Road initiative, CPEC has great demonstration significance. CPEC fully embodies the open and inclusive, mutual benefit and win-win guiding ideology. China is willing to work together with Pakistan to further deepen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, promote bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly exchanges in various fields.

Rabbani highly appreciated Pakistan-China relationship which experienced the test of time . He said, Pakistan-China friendship lasts for generations. Pakistan is willing to work together with China to advance the construction of CPEC and strengthen coordination and cooperation on major international and regional issues, Jointly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries.
