Ambassador Yao Jing visited Lahore

On January 12 to 13, Ambassador Yao Jing paid a visit to Lahore. During his stay, he met with Governor of Punjab MalikRafique Rajwana, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Ex-Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Ex-Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri. Consul General in Lahore Long Dingbin was accompanied by him.


Ambassador Yao lauded the support of political parties and people from all walks of life in Punjab for the developing bilateral, friendly relations between China and Pakistan and the smooth execution of CPEC as well. He said that the Punjab is an economically strong province in Pakistan; has to play an important role for the mutual exchanges and cooperation between both countries. He hoped the province would keep striving for the promotion of China-Pakistan friendship and cooperation, push forward CPEC related ongoing projects throughout the province, and will endeavor foolproof protection and safety of Chinese enterprises and personnel.

Ambassador Yao was widely welcomed by people from all walks of life in Punjab, who stressed the friendship has been passed on from generation to generation and rooted in the heart of the Punjab's people. The Punjab Government and people from all sphere of life would continue to extend their full support towards CPEC, hail Chinese investment and provide quality services to Chinese companies and personnel.

During his Lahore visit, Ambassador Yao also inspected the Orange Line Metro Rail Transit System and the Safe City projects; being constructed by the Chinese enterprises. He also shared his views with the local media.
