Ambassador Yao Jing met with Chief of Army Staff

On July 9th, Ambassador Yao Jing met with General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan. Defense Attache Major General Chen Wenrong of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan was present.

Ambassador Yao recalled the successful visit to Pakistan by Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, General Zhang Youxia in this May. He said that the military cooperation between the two counties is of vital importance in their all-weather strategic cooperation. China will give Pakistan the priority in its neighborhood diplomacy as usual, promote Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC, and enhance military exchanges and cooperation, in order to jointly safeguard security and development interests of both countries and the region.

General Bajwa said that Pakistan’s growing bond with China has facilitated the extensive and profound exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries. Pakistan highly values its relations with China, and is ready to strengthen exchanges between two sides to pave the way for the smooth carrying-out of the projects under CPEC and contribute further to regional development and prosperity.
