Ambassador Yao Jing met with the Caretaker Foreign Minister

On July 17th, Ambassador Yao Jing met with Abdullah Hussain Haroon, the Caretaker Foreign Minister of Pakistan.

Ambassador Yao said that China has established the guiding role of President Xi Jinping's thought on diplomacy. Diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era aims to create a more friendly and mutually beneficial neighboring environment and push for a deeper and steadier development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) by upholding the principle of being“jointly built through consultation for shared benefits”. China has forged an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan and always put it as top priority in China’s neighborhood diplomacy. China is ready to further carry out close high-level exchanges and strategic communication, strengthen friendly exchanges in various fields and make a steady advance in BRI and CPEC construction, build a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Haroon spoke highly of Pakistan-China relations. He said that Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain’s recent visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit held in Qingdao and his meeting with his counterpart Xi Jinping have great significance and achieved fruitful results. He said Pakistan will continue to promote the development of Pakistan-China relations, push forward CPEC construction and take an active part in all cooperation related to BRI and SCO.
