Chinese cross-departmental joint working group paid on-site condolences to Chinese victims

On July 17, the Chinese cross-departmental joint working group, along with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong paid on-site condolences to the 9 Chinese nationals who lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. Senior officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, military of Pakistan and local citizens joined the visit.

Mr. Wu Wei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of External Security Affairs of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs who led the joint working team, and Ambassador Nong Rong, along with participants stood in silence for one minute and bowed three times to the pictures of the victims.

On behalf of the working group, Wu expressed deep condolences to the victims, visited the site of the Dasu Hydropower project accompanied by Ambassador Nong Rong. They conveyed care from the leaders of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council, and encouraged the workers to overcome the difficulties. Wu said that the strong friendship between China and Pakistan won't be disrupted. The working group had asked Pakistan to tighten up their security measures, to ensure safety of all Chinese personnel in the country.
