| Pakistan medical team leaves for Longnan city to set up medical camp |

BEIJING, May 29 (APP)- The 28-member Pakistan medical team left Thursday for Longnan in Gansu province, some 500 kilometers from Lanzhou city to set up their medical camp. The Pakistan medical team and paramedical staff that arrived in Lanzhou city early today for relief and rehabilitation work was warmly received by the senior officials Gansu Province. At a ceremony held in Lanzhou city the Vice Governor, Madam Xian Hui expressed her gratitude to the people, Government of Pakistan for their support, solidarity and assistance extended for the earthquake victims. She also thanked the medical team for its commitment to humanitarian work and expressed the hope that their relief work would further cement the ties between the people of the two countries. The representative of the Pakistan Embassy, while thanking the Vice Governor for her reception and expressions of goodwill, noted that Pakistan has made a modest contribution to the earthquake relief assistance. He stated that the people of Pakistan continue to recall the generous support and assistance extended by China to them during the 2005 earthquake in their country. The Pakistan Embassy representative gave a brief account of the details of assistance provided by the Government of Pakistan as well the donations made by the Pakistan Embassy and the Pakistan Embassy College in Beijing for the affectees of the 12 May earthquake. |
